The School Day

What time is the school open?
- Morning children come in between 9am to 9.15am and go home at 11.40am
- Afternoon children come in at 1pm and go home between 3.15pm to 3.30pm
- Full time children come in between 9am to 9.15am and go home between 3.15pm to 3.30pm
- Part time children will have one full day when they are securely settled into school
School Organisation
- Your child will be allocated to a class team (Rosemary, Mint or Lavender)
- Your child will be allocated a ‘Key person’ in their class team. This person will talk to you about your child’s development and develop a significant relationship with your child.
- Initially the key person should be the person you talk to if you have any questions or concerns. You can follow up any continuing concerns with the head teacher.
We want you to bring your child into the class room to a member of their class team at the start of the session to say “Hello”.
This is where you will need to collect him/her after story time at the end of the session.
All staff in the classroom will be responsible for your child.

Snow and Bad Weather
The school will make every effort to remain open in snow and bad weather. The decision to close the school will be made by the headteacher if:
1. Insufficient staff are able to come in to keep the school running safely.
2. Conditions on site are dangerous.
3. Conditions are too hazardous for travel.
The closure will be reported to the local authority and posted on the school website. The school will make every effort to keep parents informed and parents should also check the website and local news broadcasts
In the event of the school having to close during the day due to worsening weather parents will be contacted by phone and asked to collect their child early.
In the event of snow or ice pathways will be cleared and salted.
Children should come to school in suitable clothing including boots or wellingtons and waterproof jackets in bad weather. As long as it is safe, we will go outside for short periods to enjoy the snow but we will make sure that the children do not get too cold or wet.
