Think about all the things involved in riding a scooter. You need to balance using your whole body, push with your legs, steer and manoeuvre, use space, and control your speed. You also need to be able to share and take turns and negotiate. Riding a scooter is also fun and moving faster than you can walk is exciting. It's important that everyone is encouraged to be physically active and gets a turn to use the wheeled toys like scooters and bikes. That means girls as well as boys and less confident children as well as more confident ones.
We have a gold star travel plan and encouraging children to be positive about sustainable forms of travel such as cycling and scooting will have long term benefits not only for their health but for their environment. Comments are closed.
