Today we launched our children's Traffic Club and the children learned about road safety. Share the pack with your children and try out some of the activities. You have the right to be protected from being hurt and mistreated, in body or mind.
(UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 19) We went to the memorial in Shandy Park to mark Remembrance Day and 100 years since the end of the First World War. We learned about Alfred George Drake who lived nearby a long time ago. He was very brave in the war and helped his friend. Alfred got hurt in the fighting. He was given a Victoria Cross medal. We put some poppies on the memorial and we sung a song as we remembered Alfred. You have the right to protection and freedom from war.
