Today at nursery we made delicious soup using vegetables we grew in our garden. We picked, washed and then chopped the vegetables to make the soup. We cooked the soup on our outdoor fire. Finally we ate the soup and it was delicious. Through doing this activity our children learned

(Rights Respecting School UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; Article 24) As part of our work on Understanding the World we are visiting places in our local environment. Today we visited St Dunstan's Church to do some sketching. We looked very closely at some of the things in the church and drew pictures of them. This also helps with our SMSC (spiritual, moral, social and cultural) work . We learned that some people people choose to be Christians and go to church. You have the right to find out things and share what you think with others, by talking, drawing, writing or in any other way unless it harms or offends other people.
You have the right to practice your own culture, language and religion - or any you choose. Minority and indigenous groups need special protection of this right. (Rights Respecting School UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; Article 13 and 30) |
