This week we have been having stories about pirates. There are lots of opportunities to learn new words when reading pirate books and when the children act out stories with pirate resources they can use use some of this new vocabulary - words like "treasure" and "telescope" and "rigging" - for themselves. They can also develop their ability to tell stories and put their ideas into a sequence. They have opportunities to work together and to develop their imagination.
There was a learning at home blog post with a vocabulary chart so you could try using some of this vocabulary at home as well. Don't forget that you can make a boat out of a box or cut out some pirate figures from paper.
