Today we visited The Ragged School Museum and saw what school was like a long time ago in Victorian times. We also saw some other interesting objects. What can you see? Did you notice the mangle? What did we use that for? It is free to visit The Ragged School and it is just on Copperfield Road, near Mile End Sports Stadium. "You have the right to a good quality education. You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can".
(Rights Respecting School UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; Article 28) This week in nursery we have been getting 'out and about' and visiting different places in the local environment. We take the children out to extend their knowledge of the world and to get them talking. We have visited Mile End Park to look at the different features of the park. We went to Stepney City Farm to see the animals and Whitechapel Market to buy vegetables. We are learning about healthy eating and next week we will make delicious soup! When we go out, we talk lots and learn lots of new words. We develop the confidence to be curious and explore the world, starting close to home and then beyond. "You have right to the best healthcare possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment and information to help you stay well"
